On Saturday, December 14, Emily Blunt threw herself an intimate baby shower surrounded by her closest friends. Jennifer Aniston, who was dropped off by her fiancé Justin Theroux, Amy Adams and Kristen Bell all arrived at Blunt’s Los Angeles home carrying gifts wrapped in pink, blue, and purple. Because Blunt and her husband John Krasinski are keeping the gender of the baby a secret, the shower was decorated in pink and blue balloons.

Blunt and Krasinski confirmed that they were expecting their first child back in September. The couple married in 2010 while in Italy, and were very open about their desire to have children. In 2012, while speaking to Manhattan magazine, Blunt said: “We want to have children; I just don’t know when yet. I’m just not sure about the timing of all of that. We’re both from big families, so I think it’s something we want.”

Despite Blunt’s celebrity guests, sources say that the shower was very low key and casual. “It was a very casual shower,” the source said. “Emily seems very excited about the baby and looks great. She opened gifts of baby clothes and plush toys in front of her guests as they enjoyed cookies and chocolate. Everyone was oohing and ahhing.”

Blunt and Krasinski will be celebrating the arrival of their bundle of joy sometime in January.
