It’s hard to imagine what it was like to suddenly be face-to-face with their sports idol, but from the looks of things it was an incredibly emotional experience for some fans.

Adidas set up a photobooth at the Westfield mall in Stratford, London as part of an Olympics promotion #takethestage. The excited fans knew they were there in support of team Great Britain, but little did they know that one of the team’s biggest stars was just around the corner waiting to photobomb.

Though Beckham isn’t a part of the team that will compete in this year’s games, it’s nice to see him take some time to make some fans’ days. And in the case of that 12-year-old boy that’s overcome by emotion, I’m sure Beckham made more than just his day.

As far as team GB goes, Beckham told Adidas who he thinks we should keep out eye on this year – “Team GB have got some very good young players, but for me the best player is my friend Ryan Giggs. He’s an amazing player.”
