  • “Dark Knight Rises” is at the very top of my must-see list this year. Never mind “The Avengers” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” — DKR is where it’s at. If you’ve been following any of the coverage surrounding director Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated summer blockbuster, then, chances are, you have a thorough understanding as to why everyone is enthusiastically pumped for its release. I get buzzed just watching the trailers, which may explain why I’ve practically wet myself with excitement over the latest TV spots.

Unfamiliar with “The Dark Knight Rises”? Help yourself to this synopsis:

Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent’s crimes to protect Dent’s reputation and is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman returns to Gotham, where he encounters the mysterious Selina Kyle and the villainous Bane, and must confront the latter’s plans to destroy the city.

The first spot focuses mostly on Bruce Wayne and the eventual return of Batman, while the second clip is centered mostly around Selina Kyle and her Catwoman alter-ego. But why waste time discussing these spots when you could just kick back, relax, and let the cinematic goodness wash over you in a cool, crisp wave.

“The Dark Knight Rises”, which stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Juno Temple, opens in theaters on July 20th. But I’m sure you knew that already. The latest spots have been carefully embedded below.
