A support group to help alien abductees is coming to TBS, as the network welcomes People of Earth, previously called The Group, a comedy series by Conan O’Brien and Greg Daniels, the creator of The Office.

People of Earth stars Wyatt Cenac as Ozzie Graham, a skeptical journalist investigating a support group for alien abductees so he can write about their “alien encounters.” The support group is run by therapist Gina Morrison, played by Ana Gasteyer and town priest portrayed by Oscar Nuñez. The group of alien abductees gathers in the community room of Our Lady of Sorrows in the fictional town of Beacon.

Graham, who doesn’t believe in aliens at first, realizes that the more he mingles with the group and gets to know them, the more he understands that these people could be telling the truth and that he may have been abducted himself.
Conan O’Brien and writing partner Daniels will serve as executive producers along with Jeff Ross, Larry Sullivan, David Kissinger, and David Jenkens, who wrote and created People of Earth.
“Having Greg Daniels executive-produce and direct a project for us at such an early stage in the network’s evolution is huge,” Brett Weitz, EVP of original programming for TBS, stated.
“Since the launch of the Conan O'Brien show, which has been a brand beacon for TBS for more than five years, we’ve been searching for just the right sophisticated and funny scripted comedy series to develop with our partners at Conaco. I believe we found that in this wonderfully original script by David Jenkins,” Weitz said of Conan O’Brien and Daniels’ show.
People of Earth also stars Michael Cassidy, Oscar Nuñez, Alice Wetterlund, Nancy Lenehan, Ken Hall, Brian Huskey, Luka Jones, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson, and Tracee Chimo.
