Chelsea Clinton was just an awkward teenager when she was introduced to the world as the president's daughter. She has since grown up to be a successful young woman and a new mother.

Chelsea announced her pregnancy last April, after speaking on women's empowerment in New York at the Lower Eastside Girls Club.

“I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me,” said Chelsea Clinton at the time.

Chelsea was looking forward to becoming a mother and talked about it in several interviews throughout 2013. She even told Glamour Magazine that 2014 would be “the year of the baby.”

Chelsea married her husband Marc Mezvinsky in 2010, but was still focused on her career at the time. She is the vice chair of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation and also worked as a reporter for NBC news.

After learning that she was pregnant, Chelsea decided to leave NBC to focus on her first child and her work with the family foundation.

Chelsea announced the birth of her daughter on Twitter and both Bill and Hilary also retweeted the post to share the news.

Bill and Hillary also shared photos of themselves with their new granddaughter and seemed ecstatic to be grandparents.

Congratulations to the entire family on their new bundle of joy.
