  • Burt Reynolds is selling another Bandit car recreation from the iconic films.

The car, a Complete restoration of a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, will be sold by Carlisle Auctions of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

The car was completely restored by Burt Reynolds’ personal friend Harold Murphy of Murphy Auto Body and Restoration of West Palm Beach.

The auction website revealed that this will be the last of Burt Reynolds’ Bandit cars to be sold.

It said, “Burt and Mr. Murphy have been friends for over 35 years and collaborated on the building of a ‘Bandit Car’ for Burt’s personal collection. Harold has restored many of Burt’s vehicles in the past, including his personal airplane, and was the natural choice to build a TA for Burt.”

If you haven't heard the exciting news, Carlisle Auctions will be auctioning off Burt Reynold's Bandit recreation 1977…

It went on to say, “The project was undertaken with the agreement that this will be the last ‘Bandit’ car built for Burt. As such, all efforts were put into this car to make it as authentic as possible.”

The website also seemed to hint that Burt Reynolds may have fallen on hard times.

It said, “As often happens in life, things change and it has now become necessary to sell the car.”

The website also indicated that whoever wins Burt Reynold’s car will also get the autographed jacket and hat that Reynolds is wearing in the pics above.

A previous 1977 Burt Reynolds Trans Am sold for $450,000, but was reportedly not in as good of a condition as it could have been.
