  1. David Cameron’s background is PR not Law. He often states that they are going to do this or that or the other with no knowledge of the legal implications. For example: he has promised harsh sentencing and jail terms for offenders, but as many of them are minors, this just isn’t going to happen. Another time he questioned the necessity of public liability for street parties during the royal wedding. Although I’m not fond of him either Tony Blair (previously a barrister) would have understood this, so it’s not written in stone that this will come to pas or not, especially as European Law and Human Rights law supercede British law.

    BTW Chris – “David Cameron’s country–well, his boss’ country” – exactly what did you mean by this? What boss? The electorate? If you mean the Queen, she takes no part in running this country and certainly doesn’t “own” it.
