American treasure and former Golden Girl Betty White has officially joined the fast-paced madness that is Twitter. And in less than 24 hours, the 90-year-old actress has amassed over 118,000 followers.

The famed comedienne has yet to really bust out her best stuff, having only the chance to send out three tweets so far. The first was a hello to the Twitterverse. The second was a promotional tweet (which few celebrity Twitter accounts avoid). And the third is a shot out and risque request to Ryan Seacrest. I’d say she’s doing it right so far.

Hey @RyanSeacrest – my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we’re in the same time slot. I’ve always dreamed of sharing a night with you…(image) 15 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

The real Betty White (@BettyMWhite – M stands for “Marion”) is going to have to compete with a pretty strong parody account. @BettyFckinWhite has been around for quite some time and has over 100K followers of their own. Of course, the real Betty White has overcome that number in about 17 hours.

Betty White has seen a pop culture resurgence in the last few years. Her role on the TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland has won her an Emmy and some Screen Actors Guild awards. Her upcoming show on NBC is what she promoted via her second-ever tweet. Betty White’s Off Their Rockers is a practical joke show that features folks from the older generation pranking the younger ones. That show debuted earlier this month.

I should have been following Betty White on Twitter since I completely missed her new show. I hadn’t even heard of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers until a coworker at Dish told me about it yesterday and said that I had to check it out. So looked for it on dishonline(dot)com—which is an awesome free streaming site I often use, and sure enough—the first four episodes are there. I’m going to have to spread the word: this show is hilarious. Plus anyone can watch it on dishonline since you don’t even need to be a Dish-customer to watch a lot of the shows on there.
