Batman Charged With Obstructing Police
[ Life]

Batman may just want to be helpful, but not everyone wants his help.

33-year old Mark Wayne Williams was arrested over the weekend for obstructing a police investigation after he tried to assist Michigan police in finding a driver who fled from an accident scene. The problem was, officers had a dog on the scent and Williams got in the way, throwing the dog off.

“He wouldn’t clear the scene, and we had a canine out there and he kept screwing up the scent,” State Police Sgt. Jeff Gorno said. “He said he wanted to help us look for the driver.”

Williams didn’t have any weapons on him, but his costume and gear were confiscated; he has been in trouble with the law before after he was found in costume on the roof of a business in his hometown and was sentenced to six months probation, during which he was not allowed to wear the costume.

The interesting thing about Williams is that he chooses to wear the old-school, Adam West-type version of the Batman costume; perhaps that’s why he’s not being taken seriously.

Is this guy serious?! I mean, I grew up watching Adam West as Batman, but c’mon! This is the 21st century; the least this guy could do is use the Michael Keaton version of the costume, if not the current Dark Knight one.

At one point in this man’s life he was court ordered not to wear a costume. Screw hero, this man is a legend.

Isn’t this poor sap somehow covered by the Good Samaritan Act or at least some kind of Act?

    • dynarider222

      Yes..it’s called “THE BAKER ACT!”

  • JD

Well except for the mask, it’s a homemade costume. I think he should’ve brought Robin with him to deal with the police. Where was Batgirl during this caper?

  • Lenny

Has this writer ever watched the old Batman show with Adam West? Because that is not the costume. It’s closer to Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns costume. Or any number of comic book artists visions of Batman, but not Adam West.

Was the Joker involved in this somehow???

If anyone is serious to do something this crazy knowing that it is illegal and would be interfering with the police, they should at least be physically and mentally prepared and have a well thought plan to catch the criminal(s) AND escape from the police without getting cought.
