Following the earlier photos that were received from a Best Buy employee showing the supposed poster from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 3 game from Ubisoft Montreal, the official twitter feed from Ubisoft decided to put all of the speculation and rumors to rest by releasing the official box art.

By doing this, Ubisoft, whether they wanted to or not, was basically forced by the powers of social media, to reveal this. If they didn’t, they would have spent the next few days answering one question…..”Is that poster real?”

More details on @assassinscreed 3 to be revealed on Monday March 5th. Meanwhile, let’s contemplate the box art: http://t.co/I5ZMXJxT 26 minutes ago via TweetDeck ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

Assassin's Creed 3 Box Art

As you can see from the box art, It is clearly the games protagonist about to hack into a british Red Coat with a 13 star “Old Glory” in the background. The fact that he is about to kill a Red Coat with a tomahawk may mean that he really is either part or full Native American.

Shortly thereafter Game Informer released the covers for their upcoming issue. They feature AC3 in what can now no longer be debated as to what time period this game will take place in.

It is possible that the main character is native American, but remember, In ACR, It took place in Istanbul, and the weapons and armor were more Arabic, while our hero was Italian. So there is always the chance that they are simply adopting some of the early American weaponry, from both the natives and the colonists. Still, VERY excited to see it!

I’m happy, anxious, and freaking thrilled to see this. I didn’t know how they would pull it off but they did. I just hope they still have the hidden blades. This is on my Game list of 2012
