Alicia Silverstone has posted on her blog “the kind life with Alicia Silverstone“, a video of her feeding her toddler son Bear chewed up food from her mouth.

“I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum! I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup…from my mouth to his. It’s his favorite…and mine. He literally crawls across the room to attack my mouth if I’m eating. This video was taken about a month or 2 ago when he was a bit wobbly. Now he is grabbing my mouth to get the food!”, Silver stone writes.

She doesn’t explain why she feeds her son in this manner, just that it is their favorite way of eating. Bear will crawl from across the room to get at a mouthful of Alicia’s predigested food.

The blog is an extension of her book “The Kind Diet”, and celebrates the vegan lifestyle as Silverstone sees it.

Birds often feed their young by regurgitating food into their mouth. Silverstone has failed to recognize the fact that humans are not birds.

To clarify, I personally do not care how Alicia Silverstone feeds her child. She should be able to do what she wants as long as it doesn’t endanger the kid’s welfare. But she should be aware that the media isn’t too kind about celebrity’s eccentricities, whatever they may be. The story is being posted on blogs all over the place right now, from TMZ to the New York Daily News.

The blog itself has many followers chastising the actress for using this method to feed her child. One woman writes, “We have waaaay more germs in our mouths than do babies. Also it’s a big disservice to him if you don’t get him to chew his own food. How are you helping him? It just seems lazy to me. Do the work, cut your kid’s food up in tiny pieces so a) he can learn to eat on his own and b) you aren’t passing off germs to him. You have a fully developed immune system, he does not. Not trying to be mean or rude, but really, this is wrong on several levels.”

people fed their kids the same way at one time
before baby food and special dinners for kids.

They also worked in factories at the ripe age of 10, doesn’t mean it still needs to be going on. Nor does it mean it needs to be video-taped for everyone to see.

She should not have posted this. Now, many past admirers/fans may not look at her the same way!! It just comes across as disturbing and poor kid, he won’t hear the last of it, even in his adult age!! That’s not weaning, it is encouraging other behaviors making separation anxiety more of an issue than the typical…sad.

I think counsel doth protest too much. Is she abusing this child? NoOOOOO!!! Ppl have we become so maniacial and petty as to bother this woman or better yet the rest of us with this “who cares” story of real humans, celebrities or not, trying to promote positive eating habits to the public. Leave it up to the social medias like tmz, enquirer and whatever else papparazzi motivated news machine or envious individual who secretly fantasizes they were celebrities and their only way to fame or be seen is to publicly bash them,in whatever forum they can find. Cal me crazy but im more worried about the obssessed ppl circulating all this negativity than i am with ms silverstone’s feeding methods

Talk about getting a lot of negative publicity! This will do it! She may had thought that it was cute at the time, but to post it for everyone to see was going a bit too far.It looked gross! There are just some things that we DON’T want to see!!!!!!!

Come on guys this is socially retarded and I think the kids gonna have separation issues and even though he won’t remember his body and subconscious is gonna remember his moms wet mouth…. Sick! I can’t believe I even had to write that nasty comment
