Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa are welcoming their first child on Wednesday night, a little boy named Camden John. And he has made quite an impact on their lives already.
Lachey, who was famously married to Jessica Simpson and had intimate details of that marriage documented for an MTV reality show, is now a family man, and that’s something he’s wanted for a long time.
“For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I’ve looked forward to this moment. Now that it’s almost here, it’s awesome,” he said when the couple announced the pregnancy.
The baby boy is healthy and is resting comfortably with his parents, who gave a statement to People Magazine as soon as he was born.
“We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey. Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.”
The couple has been planning for the new arrival well, as Vanessa tweeted on Tuesday:
