22 Killed In Collision, 5 Critically Injured

A tragic accident has claimed the lives of 22 people in the United Arab Emirates, and at least five people are critically wounded after a bus collided with a gravel truck.

The bus, which was carrying 46 Asian migrant workers, became trapped when the driver of a gravel truck lost control and the truck landed on top of the bus, trapping those inside under the load of rocks. The names and identities of the dead have not been released, but early reports say many of them were from Bangladesh.

Strangely, another bus crash in Monday’s early hours claimed the lives of eight people in Yucaipa, California when the bus, which was carrying a tour group from Mexico on a return from a ski trip, lost control and careened into several other vehicles and flipped. Police say it appears the brakes on the bus failed.

Yet another bus accident was reported over the weekend in Boston after a charter bus carrying high school students hit an overpass. 35 people were injured; no deaths have been reported.
