You know the Van Halen song “Eruption” – that two-minute blister of a track where Eddie Van Halen just shreds. Yeah, you know it.

Well, this 14-year-old girl named Tina knows it. She knows it well. And she’s so much better at guitar than you are. How does that make you feel, guy-playing-Wonderwall-at-the-party? Huh?

Best YouTube comment: Typical 14 year old girl. Doing something awesome, looks bored while doing it.

See how they compare below. I think she does more than admirably.

    Age doesn’t matter.

Seriously, the only “significant” thing about this post is that you mention her age several times. If you want to impress me, tell me how quickly she learned how to do it. Speed is what truly matters to me.

Amazing, truley is the mind of a child.
I remember when I was 14- I could, like her, play Jimis’ “Star Spangled Banner” on electric– dead ringer. But by the time I was 16… it was gone. My mind expanded up & out and while I could play other stuff, that one was gone. I sincerely hope Tina S. can retain all this. As a genius on the axe myself at learning other peoples stuff, it took me 45 years to get good at my own stuff and now I’m so old… well it’ll never go anywhere by me, but if I could hook-up with a new rising talent, like Tine S., I could send her some material that’d possible change the music scene even farther. All she has to do is go to QRZ.com, punch in KL7VU and e-mail me. After 50 years of guitar, perhaps I might have something to offer… a different way of looking at the same ole’ question–73

    Three questions really:

How long did it take her to learn it (from the bored look you would guess a year)?
What else has she learned (anything?)?
Now let’s hear her ad lib a lead part

If Van Halen hadn’t come up with this where would she be?
