In June, Twitter launched Mobile App Promotion. A bit later, its Crashlytics branch launched Answers, which it described as “mobile analytics you don’t need to analyze”.
Later still, Twitter launched its Fabric platform, which includes Answers. In the meantime, Twitter says it has gotten a lot of feedback from people requesting a free, basic solution for measuring app installs on Twitter. With that, Answers is now available to all.
“Answers is a part of Fabric, Twitter’s mobile platform, and provides real-time, optimized app analytics,” says product manager Deepak Rao. “Advertisers can start measuring installs from Twitter by integrating Fabric into their iOS or Android app, and choosing the Crashlytics Kit. In addition to this free solution, we will continue to recommend our existing mobile measurement partners, which are ideal for advertisers who want to track conversions across multiple channels and measure lifetime value, while offering Answers for advertisers who simply want to track conversions attributed to Twitter for free.”
To view installs driven by organic user activity, advertisers can visit their card analytics, and get an idea of the impact Twitter has on the free distribution of their app, as Twitter puts it.
To use Answers, login to ads.twitter.com or analytics.twitter.com and set it up using the self-serve setup in the conversion tracking tab.
