Native Integration Changes the Driver Experience

The privacy angle matters. Apple does not tie location or map activity back to individual users. The same rules that govern the iPhone app apply here. CarPlay stays available for those who want it. But the built-in system operates independently.

Ford's choice reflects hard economics. The UEV platform relies on LFP batteries and megacasting to hit aggressive cost targets. Production starts at the Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky. A cheaper, more capable navigation system helps justify the $30,000 sticker without sacrificing features that buyers now expect. Current Ford EVs already offer Apple Maps EV Routing through CarPlay.
