Consumers Going Online For In-Store Purchases

ShopLocal, a multi-channel shopping and advertising services firm, said today that its ShopLocal Retail Index was up 29 percent for the month of June, bringing the average number of page views on major retailer sites to 33 percent for the first half of 2008.In June, the index reached 174 for the month (benchmarked at 100 for January 2006), and is based on 245 million page views from 20 million consumer visits to retailers Web sites. The index is designed to track the influence of the Internet on in-store shopping.
