WordPress Introduces Post By Voice

Wordpress has just introduced a new feature that lets you update your blog by calling a phone number speaking. Wordpress users can go to the My Blogs tab, enable "Post by Voice" and get a special phone number to call for their blogs.

Calling the number and recording a message will post an audio file to the blog, which can then be published to Facebook, Twitter, etc. with the Publicize feature.

Apple’s iAds Now Appearing for Users

Apple’s iAds are making their way into the wild after weeks of hype. MacRumors.com says, "their presence appears to be very spotty on iAd-compatible applications at the moment with banners appearing only occasionally while at other times the apps simply show blank space in the banner location."

Apple announced that it has sold over 1.7 million iPhone 4s, as of Saturday, June 26th. It only launched on June 24th.

"This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history," said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. "Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply."

Verizon May Follow AT&T Pricing Model, Eliminating Unlimited Data Plans

Verizon may soon be following in the footsteps of AT&T with a tiered pricing plan. Bloomberg interviewed Verizon Communications CFO John Killian, who told them they’d "probably need to change the design of our pricing where it will not be [a] totally unlimited, flat rate." There were mixed feelings about this when AT&T did it, with a large amount of negative opinion. Verizon will no doubt face a similar uproar.

Google Opening Up Retail Options for Nexus One

Google has announced some changes to how it offers the Nexus One mobile device. Due to a disappointing turnout to its web store, Google is expanding the retail availability of the device. The company will work with partners to offer it to consumers through existing retail channels on a global scale like it has done in Europe.

In addition, Google wills top selling the device at its web store, and instead will use the location as a "store window" to show the availability of Android phones globally.

Google Voice Makes Way to iPhone, Palm WebOS

Google is launching the Google Voice app for both the iPhone and Palm WebOS. It is an HTML5 app, which the company says provides users with a "fast and versatile" mobile experience, because of its use of the latest advancements in web technologies.
