ChompOn has released some interesting findings (pdf) related to social media sharing and its value to e-commerce. Specifically, the firm sought out to answer the question: "What is the value of a social action in online commerce?" 

What they came up with is that a Facebook Share was worth $14, a Facebook "like" was worth $8, a tweet was worth $5, and a Twitter follow was worth $2.

eBay Expects $13 Billion in Revenues in 2013

eBay said it expects double-digit annual revenue and earnings growth over the next three years. The company outlined its growth plans in a meeting yesterday. eBay expects revenues to reach at least $13 billion in 2013 (compared to $9 billion in 2010).

This extension of AR tech comes in the form of Layar’s Layar Player (now out of beta). It’s available to all agencies, brands, and developers to use to include AR (for free, no less) in their iPhone apps.

Yahoo Brings “Broadcast Interactivity” to Connected TV

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, Yahoo announced that it’s introducing some new connected TV features, partnerships and apps. 

For one, Yahoo announced "Broadcast Interactivity" to launch with select national broadcast and cable TV providers and brand advertisers. The company is collaborating with ABC, CBS, HSN, and Showtime on content for a pilot program in the first half of 2011. Brand advertisers Ford, Mattel and Microsoft are also planning to work with Yahoo on this.

eBay Acquires Critical Path, Which Has Worked on eBay’s iPhone Apps

eBay announced that it has acquired Critical Path Software, a mobile app developer, which it has been working with for over two years. The company has worked with eBay on creating iPhone apps for eBay, StubHub, eBay Classifieds, and Shopping.com.
