The government would be wise to just tax online poker. As a long time internet poker player, I have enjoyed years of untaxed profits and hoped they would continue. The real issue is that our country is just about bankrupt and they need to make money at any cost. I don’t feel that indicting people who most likely will never come to trial in the US is a good use of resources. The logical solution is to legalize poker online and tax it. The biggest obstacle to that is that the Republicans (who talk about reducing the deficit but have no plan). If you’re a Democrat, I believe Barney Frank had a plan about addressing this situation years ago. If you’re a Republican and like playing poker online you are basically screwed unless you can convince your congressman that this can make money and is a better bet than the next two aircraft carriers we can’t afford.

  2. Good interview from Raymer. I suggest full-time poker players look to trading as a possible career change. Trading and online poker have many similarities.
