New Pinterest Feature Shows You More Pins For Stuff You LikeBy: Chris Crum - January 27, 2014
Pinterest is rolling out a preview of a new feature called Interests, which lets users look at pins based on specific things they’re interested in. Pinterest generates a personalized page based on your past behavior on the site.
“For example, if you’re curious about traveling, more travel Pins is a good place to start,” Pinterest explains in a blog post. “If you’re really into something specific like travel in New York City, we’ll show you some great Pins we think you may like.”
When you go to Pinterest on the desktop, you should be greeted by a box asking if you want to try it out. Once there, click the button to “take the tour”. You can get to your page by going to pinterest.com/explore.
Once on that page, you can click on any of the topics to see more related pins.
Click on “jeff goldblum,” for example, and you’ll be directed to all kinds of hidden gems like this:
Presumably, it works for non-Goldblum imagery as well.
The company does note that since it’s still in preview, you may see things that “aren’t quite your thing” in the mix.
