I hope they record Beethoven symphonies!

  2. MusOpen is a very good idea. I hope it will succeed, because in this times, the old composers are about to be forgotten. The old composers really deserve to get a come back, and to heal the world with their beautiful music. Good luck with your project!!

“… we will speak to well known orchestras, probably in Europe to save money, and record it there.”

The above implication that European orchestras as such should be any cheaper to hire than orchestras in the U.S. makes no sense at all. What you (or the person quoted, or MusOpen) probably have in mind is the low-wage/high exploitation countries in the former east block.

They will gladly participate in the liberation of classical music rights.
