AT&T announced two new smartphones today – the LG Thrill 4G and the HTC HD7S. The news comes just after the announcement that the company is acquiring T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom for $39 billion in cash and stock (subject to regulatory approval).

The LG Thrill 4G will be AT&T-exclusive, hitting stores within the next few months (no official date yet).

The device will have the first dual-core, dual-channel 1 GHz processor in the U.S. It runs Android 2.2 and features glasses-free 3D. It will even let users shoot 3D video and 3D stills with a dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic camera.  IT will also offer 3D content through the LG 3D Space (games, videos, and images).

The HTC HD7S is a Windows phone, and has the largest screen for one that AT&T offers. It has a 1 GHz processor, and comes preloaded with the U-verse Mobile application, so AT&T U-verse customers can download and watch TV shows.

“This new AT&T smartphone will be the first HD7 model from HTC in the U.S. with an improved super LCD high resolution display,” AT&T says. It will be available in the coming weeks (again, no firm date).

“AT&T customers know that we offer the best lineup of cutting-edge smartphones in the country,” says said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Our first 3D phone plus a new, leading Windows Phone underscore our commitment to continue to offer the best. 2011 is going to be another landmark year for us with more best-in-class devices.”

The company says it plans to have over 20 4G devices out this year. AT&T and T-Mobile expect their deal to be complete in a year.
