Instagram Reaches 40 Million Users and Growing

There is no doubt the Instagram acquisition by Facebook has made a valuable commodity even more attractive. Just as the announcement came that Facebook indeed intended to make the deal a reality, the photo sharing platform announced the 30 million user milestone. In fact, just the introduction of the Android app alone added 5 million new users in just a week.

Now sources at Gramfeed, a site dedicated to viewing Instagram photos, say the photo-sharing site has reached the 40 million user milestone! This rumor has not yet been corroborated by Instagram, but it comes as no surprise given the exposure the platform has been receiving in the press lately.

We will have to wait for the official announcement, but I have a feeling this will be just another in a long list of accomplishments for Instagram in the coming months as Facebook assumes control of the photo-sharing giant. Facebook is sure to bring even more popularity to the platform as it becomes more integrated into their already long list of member services.
