HTC One Series Unveiled At Mobile World Congress
[ Technology]

At the Mobile World Congress 2012, HTC has unveiled their latest line of Anroid-based smartphones. The HTC One series consists of three phones designed to appeal to a range of customers and their varying budgets.

All three phones will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, as well as HTC’s own branded user experience, HTC Sense 4. The HTC One line promises a much-improved audio experience, as well as numerous enhancements to the phones’ on-board cameras. Camera updates include a dramatically increased shutter speed and autofocus times (0.7 seconds and 0.2 seconds, respectively). Other improvements include better pictures in image quality in adverse conditions, simultaneous video/still pic capture, Dropbox integration, and a variety of photo sharing options (including HDMI out).

The HTC One line also integrates Beats By Dr. Dre audio technology. The Music Hub provides users with centralized access to streaming music services and music applications. The phones also include HTC Car Stereo Clip, which allows users a variety of options for getting music from their phone onto their cars’ speakers.

The HTC One line consists of three phones. The HTC One X consists of a polycarbonate unibody shell with a 4.7-inch Gorilla Glass 720p screen, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and a 12-core NVIDIA graphics processor. It will also be available in a 4G LTE model.

The HTC One S (pictured above) sports a 4.3-inch Gorilla Glass screen and a Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm. At 7.9mm thick, it is one of the thinnest smartphones on the market. The body of the phone is made with a Ceramic Metal technology that is designed to be extremely durable.

HTC’s announcement is light on details concerning the third phone, the HTC One V, though it apparently sports an aluminum unibody shell and “top-end design” in a “smartphone with broad appeal and a premium experience.”

The HTC One series will begin shipping in April and will be available through over 140 mobile carriers around the world.
