  1. Google needs to focus more on partnering with sites than trying to compete if they are really interested in long term. Not only will they profit, but it will get more people interested in partnering with Google. The internet was not created to have a single entity control it all and I think publishers see what Google stands for by the actions they take that do not seem to live up to the words they write.

Google want to kicl off IE in conjunction with firefox. You know all the agreements are based on benefits.

  3. The only reason Google is interested in Firefox and Chrome is to ensure that Google is the default search engine. The concept of advancing the web does not need Google in order to do this – it would naturally do this anyway. The only reason Google is claiming this is to try to and avoid the negative publicity associated with a market monopoly. I like Google but then I liked Alta Vista before Google came along – wouldn’t they better off focussing on quality rather than dominace? I’m sure Matt Cutt’s would agree.
