Brace yourselves! Another Mayday disaster coming. They are playing God with the search results again. Expect more sites and businesses to disappear from the face of the earth and Adwords ads to shine! There is nothing they have done right this year regarding search! NOTHING! How about you show exactly what people ask you for, Samarth Keshava!!!!! No wonder Google’s stock is tanking as well as their search share.

  2. More difficult for winning in page one, Fiuhh…

  3. Wow. This could be great or this could be trouble. It means if I get my site to page one that maybe more of my relevant pages will show up on page one. This is important. Did you know that 42% of google searchers click on the number one search result? Did you know that 80% click on search results 1 to 7 and only 20% of searchers click elsewhere? Yeah! This could bite us in the ass. Hey, I pay for my web hosting! I need an algorithm thats going to reward website owners who pay for their sites, not reward all the freebie freaks out there using free articles, blogs, and such to get free advertising.
There is nothing worse than being number one for a week then seeing twenty or thirty copy cats dethrone you with a barage of keyword rich, supposedly relevant content artciles and blogs. Owning a website is important. Providing relevant content is my goal.

  4. So they are going to flood the first page with results from the same site. What was the point of ‘Sitelinks’ in the main entry of the domain and the ‘More results from…’ link? Don’t these two already give the user the options Google wants to show, without giving the same domain for nearly all of the page.

On a brighter note, maybe it will make users start to explore further on pages 2, 3 etc., much more than they do currently. That could be good news for those sites with good content that never really seem to hit the top spots because they don’t use spammy enough language.

    • Well said Grey!
      Could not agree more.
Without that, clicking on “more results from…” would give me that info and having other sites appearing on the first page could actually give me new leads to relevant topics.
If they implement that change, out goes the added info from other websites peddling the same kind of info.
And though I admire your optiimism that it might pushh users to pages 2.3 etc, I doubt it profoundly.

  5. I AGREE WITH SAMARTH!

Why dosn’t Google just do what they used to do… provide the information that the searcher is looking for… PERIOD! If additional information is required, this live person should know what to request. STOP THINKING FOR US! Our brains are getting rusty! LOL

    • If I want everything from WebProNews i know how to get there i dont need google to take my hand and lead me there. It’s simple http://www.webpronews.com/

  6. This is upsetting, i have spent nearly a month researching on how i can improve my links and the web God has decided to change their functionality. Another annoying one is the new facebook static page conditions starting tomorrow.

When will these big giants let people rest. I spend all my time trying to live according to their standards.

  7. Here we go again is exactly correct, I just finished making changes from the last round of algorithm change. I dont understand, if even just one result leads to a domain wont that provide the end result for people to find everything on that domain? This appears to be another adwords booster, after all do people search for a domain, if i want everything from one domain i would simply paste the domain in my browser i dont need google for that go Bing & Yahoo this is where people are finding true natural search results instead of handcrafted results to favor adwords users.

Google is a joke. Altavista provides better results. I wonder how old is this guy in charge of the algo. He is pulling some 1994 crap on us. He is turning Google into a damn directory. It’s time to change search engines! Death of Google is very imminent. People won’t be able to find things they want anymore without digging to page 2.

Their stock is tanking and they can’t get anything right lately. The two boys in charge soon won’t be in charge anymore. It’s all about profits now so… The doors are open for a couple kids in some basement to come up with their own engine. The public loves these “from their basement” stories and so the webmasters. The Google unconditional love is not there anymore. Search the web. I was a Google wh***, a fanboy. You couldn’t say anything against Google. I’m using Yahoo more and more lately.

  9. A few things that Google consistently appears to look for include original and significant content on landing pages (the page a person goes to when they click on your ad), transparent business dealings and upfront information about how you conduct business, and easy methods for searching your website from the landing page. To avoid a Google Slap you

  10. Again what happened to Google? Yes, they are God and we must obey them. :(

  11. Interesting Algorithm Change for Website which would make visitors to navigate the site easily and reach to appropriate point.

  12. So I guess that deep links were worth the money after all?

I agree, I just had to spend 3 weeks with Adwords support, once I got them to respond that my site had low landing page scores. Of course, this wasn’t true and I have a simple, content related site and follow the rules. THe reversed their decision and guess what, I am at the top again. They would not give me a reason why.

It was the cost of the clicks, I would get impressions only if my PPC was 15 dollars or more.

Okay, I sell watches, at a great price. Why do I have to add more content so my landing pages will get a high score. So, now, on each page, I have to 100 watches instead of 25. People don’t like to scroll, but I am forced to put more content. Maybe the history of watches. Who cares, people want to buy a watch and see the prices and the specs. SO, I nice streamlined, non overloaded with crap site, will not be viewed relavent for Google.

I have stopped using Google as my personal search because I see what they forbid. I know I am going to miss out on better search results for people who don’t want to put filler crap for the sake of relavency.

    • yes, if you sell something, no one wants to see extra foo foo stuff. I totally agree. My discountwatchesusa.com site it simple, direct, no shipping cost and just has the descriptions you need. I too had to expand the number of watches I show on a page to get some landing pages quality going, But in the end, it is the cost of the PPC.

  15. Well done Samarth…well done Google…that’s called the game…I think most SEO guys are going to have tough time ahead. Perhaps natural SEO is the game again.

I just wish Google would return my own site when I search for it instead of someone else’s site. Recently in the last few days Google has stuck a competitor’s site under my site’s listed results.

There is still a failure to return exact results after all their changes my traffic has been cut to 30 percent of what it use to be before the Feb change.

After you weed through the corporate results on the First Page -the Maps, the local ads, etc., you practically on page 3 to find what you searched for initially. This is not a natural experience for the user and frustrating so much that I use Yahoo now to search or Bing. Google is manipulating the hell of out itself to the point where search is not natural anymore, let alone my readers trying to find my site which is more difficult.

What else would you expect from the largest surviving parasite on the Internet?

That’s why I don’t respect G. and tell everybody to game it or die. G. couldn’t care less about your relevant content or your white hat seo. Your 1 year good boy work can be destroyed in 1 second by Google. That’s why all I do is blackhat. I’d say game it or die. That’s the language they seem to understand. And now I finished listening to The 50th Law by Robert Greene and 50 cent so to hell with Google! I’m more determined than ever.

  19. hi dude,

thanks for sharing new change in google algorithm..but i need more information what will be change in SEO and keyword ranking change coming days/months…

“They are playing God with the search results again”

Of course they are, Google created their search engine so they can do what the hell they like with it.

  21. I am really not surprised by this announcement. It just so happens that a week or so after Google announce that they are allowing adverts against brand names that they also remove all of the competition from the natural search for this brand name. All this just equals more money for adverts trying to rank for a brand name!!

To be honest it makes sense for Google, they are a business after all and they make their money from advertisers!!

  22. I hope htis means what I think it does that those of us with content deep sites will finally ge the pay off we so richely deserves for all are hard work – or maybe it just means that Google wants you to pay to play an to hell with the free riders….

  23. I was very encouraged to find this site. I wanted to thank you for this special read. I definitely savored every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

  25. Realising top 10 Google results is difficult for some and easier for others. That’s old news. The fact that Google will now feature more results from one site IS news. BUT, how important is that news? What are we going to do differently to get into the top 10, maintain and ADD new results? NOTHING. We’re simply going to track the search engines as we’ve always done and apply whatever accordingly.

Having said the above, I think Google could have gone the extra mile to add this as a tool which features under PREFERENCES instead of laying it out across the board. It would have added a nice personalization feature to the Google service. On that score they may have made a slight Goo Goo. Time will tell.

Even so, if that’s the way it’s going to be, we’d all do well to cut the moaning, hop online, track the search engines as they track us … and use those administrator panels & brains for the purpose for which they were designed :-)

  26. I have not seen my rankings decrease, I did see them increase though. As it seems the more relative sub pages your website has the more power it seems to be giving your index page? Anyone else notice this? Also I noticed this new display feature has made it harder to rank in the top 5 results (top fold) as per taking up to much room? So yes it does have its pros ansd cons, no problem if your a top 3 SEO though. See you on top, T

  27. People will start to get used to looking on page 2 or 3 if Googles algorithm doesn’t get it right for the user. Or maybe they’ll have an ajax drop down to show the results from that one site so it doesn’t take up the whole page. Users will have a say and it will be fine in the long run. I think it’ll be hard to be that one site that has multiple results but it just means web designers will have to work a little harder and make more relevant content to rank highest. This is good news for small firms like my own that make content so I’m kind of psyched about this. Because we’ll have to up sell our clients to use this service more!

    • “I think it’ll be hard to be that one site that has multiple results but it just means web designers will have to work a little harder and make more relevant content to rank highest.”

I really think with the popularity game that Google plays, that investing in link backs will get you higher PageRank than making your page more relevant. That seems to be way to far down Googles list to direct its users.

My e-commerce clients are not going to get linkbacks from competitors, so the most relevant linkbacks will never be there. That reduces my popularity results when potentual customers use Google for relevant pages on products they want to buy.

Someone needs to tell Google that popularity has very little to do with relevance to a search.

Why people used to come on Google ? ? To Get More diversified or Multiple result. Once they reache to any domain, they can easily find required information by themselves. No Need to Show other results on that Page.

If i Search for Keyword “Php Web Development India” and if i get one result for ” http://www.phpwebdevelopmentindia.com “. Then it’s enough for User. Now they want more options on the page, rather than same results from ” http://www.phpwebdevelopmentindia.com “.
