  1. Google continues to print money every quarter. Amazing growth for such a behemoth. Time will tell as to whether the changes in leadership roles is a good move. Good luck to Google.

  2. The most interesting figure to see is the TAC payouts. This is a figure that probably won’t ever show up for Facebook. Think of your business fanpage as a blogger blog. In the real open web, you can become an adsense partner and share in the revenues generated by your page view interest. No such program for facebook fan page users. We’ll see what the future holds

  3. I do not think this bodes either way for the Big G. Since he stays on as executive chair with a “clearer” defined role the the other two and he roving about where-ever he can best add value. Not sure what that means but in my book that is the same as CEO cum COO withoutbeing a co-founder.

  7. Check out that cash on hand as of 31 Dec 2010 – $35 Billion. This is after they spent $2.55 billion in the last quarter in capex, of which they bought a NYC office tower!!

  9. Strange time to change positions but this may be for personal reasons, to get out of the limelight a bit or even just for a change of pace?

  10. Google understands mobile. They are really putting emphasis on mobile. I believe mobile is going to be bigger than PCs and I believe they do too!

  11. will there be any impact on Google policies, or even they way they conduct business with their customers. or its just a management change that will not have any Domino effect on how things been done so far.

  12. No surprise, these three guys have been talking about it for a while.
    Managing the top of the ladder, makes you think , the ones underneath have to follow adaptations to new IT, good and proper management and fair example shown here, we keep the good cards in hand, we are just shuffling them for a better, more efficient apprehension of the market, to get the best result out of these three energies.

  14. Shank – Schmidt’s blog post says that he, Larry,and Sergey spoke about how to “how best to simplify our management structure and speed up decision making”, and that this was the best route for that. Blog post was interesting, sounds genuine!

  18. It’s amazing how well and how fast google has increased my business!! I’m glad Google is here to stay, even with management changes, Google will always hold strong. Nothing compares. Good work to the Google Team!

    I doubt that this personnel change will have a bit of effect on Google. Google is a advertising goldmine and so completely cemented into society that they could do everything wrong for years to come, and still they would always be a major contender. I say don’t worry about Google it’s here to stay.

  23. It’s still a lot of money though. But IMHO & experience Facebook PPC advertising doesn’t work as FB users are not in “buying mode” where PPC on Google, the ads are shown to people looking for products and services.
