Google is rolling out new updates to Google+ Profiles and Pages. A sharebox is being added, and cover photos are being made easier to manage.

Users will now be able to share from their own profile, as for some reason, this wasn’t an option before. Only the profile or page owner sees the sharebox. Here’s what it looks like:

Google Plus Share box on profile

Google has made three main changes to the way users can set their cover photos.

“Your cover photo is one of the first things people see when they come to your Google+ profile or page,” says Google+ product manager Sara McKinley, announcing the features on Google+. “It’s an instant visual representation of your personality, interests, and style.”

“We’ve added a gallery of cover photos that you can choose from for your profile or page,” she explains. “To choose one of these gallery photos, simply click on ‘Change Cover Photo’ and select ‘Gallery.’ For those of you still using the 5 photo tiles, you can easily upgrade by hovering over your scrapbook images and clicking ‘Upgrade to Cover Photo.’”

Upgrade cover photo

When a user uploads a cover photo, it will now be automatically resized to fit within the cover photo area. As McKinley explains, “You can easily adjust your cover photo simply by dragging it into place so you’ll no longer have to crop – just snap, upload and drag.”

Snap to reposition

The last change is that anytime you upload a new cover photo, the old one will be added to a new Cover Photos album. Photos will all be completely saved (not just the cropped versions).
