Google's obsession with making all sites mobile friendly continues with the launch of a new mobile friendly testing tool. The tool is available for all users logged into the Google Search Console.

Google also has created a help page for you to learn more about their Mobile Friendly Test Tool. You can also reach the new mobile tool via Google's Mobile Usability Report which has some excellent pointers on making your site more mobile friendly.

The idea is that mobile visitors are more likely to revisit mobile-friendly sites and therefore it's in your interest to make sure that your site gives visitors a top-rate mobile experience which means fast loading, easy navigation and excellent readability and usability.

If all goes well you should see this screen saying that your site is mobile friendly like it did for WebProNews.com:

Here's a bit more on the tool from Google:

"The Mobile Friendly test tool is very easy to use; simply type in the full URL of the web page that you want to test. The test typically takes less than a minute to run.

Test results include a screenshot of how the page looks to Google on a mobile device, as well as a list of any mobile usability problems that it finds. Mobile usability problems are issues that can affect a user that visits the page on a mobile (small screen) device, including small font sizes (which are hard to read on a small screen) and use of Flash (which isn't supported by most mobile devices)."
