Google Bar Update: Consistent Links, More Of ThemBy: Chris Crum - February 10, 2012
Google announced a new update to the Google Bar, the recently announced navigation bar that runs across Google products which includes the Google menu, search box, and Google+ sharing functionality.
The main change is that the links in the pull-down menu are now consistent across various pages, and there are more of them.
“Two months ago, we announced our plans to roll out a new design for the Google bar,” says technical lead Eddie Kessler. “Our goal was to create a beautifully simple and intuitive experience across Google. Based on your feedback, we realized there were some elements of the new bar that we could improve, and with that in mind, we’re introducing an updated version that we believe will provide a better experience.”
“The new design retains many of the feature changes we made in November that proved popular, including a unified search box and Google+ sharing and notifications across Google,” he adds.
The latest version of the Google Bar will be rolling out over the next few weeks.
