Foursquare Puts Location Photos, Info Front and Center

Foursquare has just released an update for their Android apps that they say will make both the experience of deciding where to go and deciding what to do when you arrive better.

Location pages are now much more informative (and pretty, too). They’ve moved the photos to the top, and users can now swipe through a series of them to “get a sense of what it’s like.” Just under the photo, Foursquare has added additional information on the venue like the rating, price, hours, phone number, and more. The address and map view is now below all of that.

You’ll also see a transparent bar at the bottom letting you know if any friends have left check-ins.

When you check-in, Foursquare has updated that screen too.

“If you’re already checked in at a place, we want to help you have the best experience possible. So, we show things like who else is there, popular tips (to make sure you order right), and an easy way for you to leave a tip or rate the place,” they say.

Android users can download the update today on Google Play. iOS are being asked to sit tight, as their update is on the way.
