Facebook Adds “Subscribe” for Users in Comments Plugins

By: Chris Crum - October 27, 2011

Facebook has launched a “subscribe” link in its Comments Box plugin. Facebook’s Malorie Lucich tells WebProNews they did this “to give people the ability to subscribe to commenters in one click, and give commenters another way to grow their Subscriptions base.”

A “Subscribe” link now appears next to the names of commenters who have opted to turn the Subscribe feature on.

Here’s what it looks like:

“This feature was updated across the more than 400,000 websites with the plugin,” Lucich says.

Facebook launched the subscribe button last month, giving personal profiles a way to become more Twitter-like, in that anyone can follow the person without having to be friends with them.
