  1. Of course it would be bad for customers, but im not so sure if it would be as bad for sony and their profits – at least mid-term.

    By removing their content they can seriously mess up the itunes-experience and open up some space for new platforms (sony-controlled of course). compare it to youtube here in germany: you just dont go there anymore if you want to hear/watch current chart music/videos, cause you know its mostly not there.

    And when people start searching for options by themselves, you are leading “potential” to “profit”.

    Sure Sony gets money from apple now, but it is legit for them to ask why apple gets such a large chunk of the cash, too and how to change that.

    eeehhh… I’m surprised that the post is so dis-proportionally one-sided. One sided to such extent that I can hardly see it’s point at all.
    Sony obviously has a goal to distribute it’s content. And so far it has been deprived of such possibility. It’s e-book app has been rejected – that why it all started. And exactly the same argument, that has been made against sony can be made against Apple. Moreover, Sony didn’t so yet, but Apple did. Does third-party distribution act as a stain on either company
