Google announced that it is adding Google+ sharing features to the Chrome Web Store today. The Google plusification of the Web Store includes the addition of the +1 button, which will help users recommend apps (and extensions) to their friends, and anyone else.

“You can now share all of your favorite Chrome Web Store items with people in your Google+ circles by finding them in the Chrome Web Store and clicking the +1 button located in their store detail page,” writes software engineer Hui Guo on the Chrome blog.

“You can also review app, extension and theme recommendations from anyone in your Google+ circles simply by clicking on the ‘From your circles’ link, located in the left category menu in the Chrome Web Store,” says Guo. “And for those of you who are relatively new to Google+, we’ve also included suggestions from some of us in the Chrome team.”

The whole experience is personalized as well, similar to Google’s Search Plus Your World feature, so you’ll see when people from your circles have +1′d something while you’re browsing the store.

They just announced it today via the link in the article. Perhaps you were in a test group?

  2. Don’t know if I was in a test group or not but this feature has been there for me as long as I’ve been on G+, which is almost a year now. I got onto G+ in Aug 2011.
