By: Chris Crum - July 3, 2013

Laptop orchestra Sideband recently performed at Google with “exploding pianist” Kathleen Suprove, and Google has now made the performance available.

“Using specially designed and custom made hemispherical speakers and a fleet of laptops, Sideband is an evolving ensemble that inspires composer, performers, and audience members to reevaluate the role of computers in music,” explains Google in the YouTube description. “Add in “Exploding Pianist” Kathleen Supove, known for her use of theatrical elements, vocal rants, performance art, staging, and eclecticism in classical playing, and you’re in for a wild ride — a true electronic music experience.”

This is part of Google’s “At Google Talks” series, which often includes musical performances. They also recently featured the legendary Bobby McFerrin.
