I have used the ad block since it came available, one thing people overlook (especially greedy webmasters) is the fact that they can be turned on at any time. I know I often allow a new page or even an old often visited page if I haven’t in a while. The thing is some sites are so ad ridden that it is impossible for me to follow the subject in the content, not to mention the against Google terms tricks that some webmasters still use. I have sites myself but I am not going to bag on people for using ad blocks due to the fact that they probably don’t care to see the same ads over and over and over again, (get the picture?) Once you’ve seen them a dozen times over there is no point in allowing them to fry your brain while trying to read the text, this is a side you never here about, most act as though if someone is blocking , they haven’t seen them earlier, when in my case I probably have. I sometimes block first, read, then unblock…

  2. I have Adblock plus installed for a couple of years, at first I was real Keen to use it but after a couple of weeks of spending time blocking adds I got rather fed up with the whole “experience”… it’s still there!
Ad Blocking is a bit like going to the Gym we are all keen as mustard on the first of January but by the 10th we even forgot where the Gym is!!

  3. I prefer the Web sans ads and use Adbock Plus in Firefox. I also use HostsMan which extends blocking across all browsers and Acrobat. I’m also a Webmaster and have clients who ask for Google and Amazon ads. I use Internet Explorer and turn off HostsMan when I work with their sites.

I do this partly because I live rural and have to use Satellite for my Internet connection and don’t want to include ads in my already latency high Web browsing.
