  1. A firm should be socially responsible. However, if taxing Apple and others is harmful to their buoyancy, the tax cut should be implemented.

    The government should critically assess the implication of the tax cut or no tax cut before taking a decision.

  2. It’s one thing to ask for the tax cuts to help the company do things like hire more employees, it’s another to ask for it just to make the company more profitable. I wouldn’t be surprised if these tax breaks go through and a few of those corporations lay off a bunch of employees at the same time. Can anybody say big bonuses?

    I feel these tax breaks should be considered if Apple and these other companies agree to bring all of their manufacturing and services divisions back to the US from abroad. “Hey Apple, move Qantas to the US and hire more Americans and we will give you some tax breaks.”.
