  1. Apple trademarked (actually they are in the process of doing so) the word “App Store” they did not trademark “AppStore”, there is a HUGE difference when it comes to trademark law. If they didn’t want anyone to have a name remotely close they should have trade marked both “App Store” and “AppStore”. Trademarking names or words is very tricky, you can only trade mark the exact wording, spacing, etc. since there are so many common names close to it, unlike trademarking a logo or picture.
