eBay Live! Now Defunct
eBay has announced it will no longer be hosting its annual networking event eBay Live!, and will instead focus on a series of local gatherings.
The company told sellers in a blog post Monday that it would be canceling its planned August 2010 event in Orlando, Florida. Its new plan is to host "more local events that don't require costly travel" for attendees, said president of eBay Marketplaces Lorrie Norrington.
eBay Lowers Sellers Fees For Fixed-Price Items
eBay is lowering its fees U.S. sellers on its site pay to list fixed-price items in an effort to attract new buyers and better compete with rivals like Amazon.com.Sellers will now pay a flat rate of 35 cents for a 30-day listed period, up from the previous seven-day standard. Sellers will be able to list multiple quantities of the same item for a single 35-cent listing fee.
