Mobile Advertising To Reach $1.3 Billion

Global mobile advertising will surpass $1 billion for the first time in 2008, reaching $1.3 billion by the end of the year and increasing to almost $7.6 billion by 2013 according to a new report from Juniper Research.SMS advertising currently accounts for the largest proportion of mobile advertising but as the popularity of mobile TV grows ad spend in that area will increase from $335 million in 2008 to more than $2.5 billion in 2013.

People will increasingly choose music rentals over owning music according to Juniper Research's "Mobile Music Services: Ringtones, Ringback Tones and Original Recordings" report.Juniper predicts that the market for subscription-based music rentals will hit $3.3 billion in 2012, surpassing spending on original recordings.
