Zuckerberg’s Sister Was In Israel On Birthright When She Found Out She Is A Google Employee

  • As previously reported, Google announced this week that it is acquiring social media marketing platform company Wildfire. It didn’t take long for reports to bring up the fact that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s sister is part of the Wildfire team, and is now technically a Google employee, even if Wildfire will continue to operate as usual (for now).

Wildfire put out a video of its team reacting to the acquisition news, and they seem pretty happy about it:

Apparently, Arielle was not part of the group. She wrote on Facebook, “I’m in Israel on Birthright and I just found out that I’m now a Google employee. Not gonna lie… This feels pretty awkward, but I also feel very proud to be a part of the Wildfire team on this exciting day for Alain and Victoria.”

Alain and Victoria would be Wildfire co-founders Victoria Ransom and Alain Chuard, who said in a joint blog post announcing the acquisition, “We truly could not think of a more perfect home for Wildfire. It makes us so happy to know that joining with Google will make it easier for us to realize our vision of changing the way the world markets and enable us to live up to our commitment to make Wildfire an incredible place for our team and our customers.”

Mark Zuckerberg’s other sister, Randi, pointed out that Arielle isn’t even the only one in the family now working for Google:

It turns out that Mark’s brother in-law Harry Schmidt, who is reportedly married to his other sister Donna, also works as a product strategist at Wildfire:

    Harry Schmidt

Maybe they can work all of this into the plot of a sequel to The Social Network.
