A recent photo of Willow Smith has caused major controversy. In the photo, 13-year-old Willow is lying on a bed with a shirtless, 20-year-old Moises Arias.
There are many photos of the two together but none of them as inappropriate at the most recent. The photo was posted on Instagram by either Willow, Moises or both, and was quickly deleted.
Willow and Moises have been friends for a long time and have the same group of friends. There are also many photos of Willow’s brother Jaden on Instagram as well. Jaden is rumored to be dating Kendall Jenner. Kendall and her sister Kylie are also friends with Moises.
If you think the name Moises Arias sounds familiar, you might remember him from the Disney television show Hannah Montana, which also starred Miley Cyrus.
Sources close to the friends have defended the photo, claiming that it is being taken out of context and is perfectly harmless. Many other people are disturbed by it and wonder what Willow’s parents think of it.
While Willow’s dad, Will Smith, hasn’t said anything about the photo yet, less than a year ago he was talking about his daughter’s innocence and how she was still so child-like in spite of growing up with a Hollywood lifestyle.
Willow had just turned down the lead role in the Annie remake and Will was struggling to understand why. He shared a conversation he had with Willow about her decision saying,
“I said, ‘Baby, hold up! I said no,no,no, listen, you’ll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyoncé will be there. You will be singing and dancing,’ and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.'”
So does the photo just show two friends hanging out or is there more to it than that?
