  • Willow Smith — the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith — has been named as the new face of fashion label Chanel.

The news came during Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2016 show in Paris on Tuesday.

“The young singer, songwriter, actress and trendsetter has been wearing CHANEL for public appearances since 2013 and her first encounter with Karl Lagerfeld was in 2014 when he photographed her for the American magazine V. She was notably present at the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear show presented this morning at the Grand Palais,” said the fashion house in a statement.

Willow, 15, also shared the big news via her Instagram account.

“I feel like there is so much creativity going on that I want to inject some of my ideas and some of my energy into the brand,” Smith told Teen Vogue backstage at the fashion show. “Because I feel like there’s a lot of things that come from youth nowadays that need to be expressed and amplified to the world.”

Willow’s brother, Jaden Smith, is another couture model in the family.

In a surprise twist, Jaden actually modeled womenswear for Louis Vuitton’s “Series 4” spring-summer 2016 collection advertising campaign.

Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton, said the label wanted Jaden to model for that particular campaign because he “represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender…Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.”
