  • Whitney Bischoff, a 29-year old nurse, won the heart of this season’s Bachelor, and now the two of them say they are ready to move on with their romance and plan their future together. But while they’re taking their time with wedding preparations, 33-year old Chris Soules says he’s ready to start a family.

Whitney was the lucky lady among a gaggle of contestants, and Soules admits he was close with Becca, a 25-year old chiropractic assistant. However, the two of them just weren’t on the same page in their respective lives.

“That doesn’t make it a bad thing, and it didn’t change how I felt about her, but it’s about trying to find the person that you can see in your life and that you have the best chance of making it work forever with. My sister said, ‘You’re not looking for a girlfriend, you’re looking for a wife.’ That’s the truth,” Soules said. “Becca has never been in love. Whitney has told me she loves me, and she’s close to 30 years old, she’s 29, she’s ready to be in love, ready to be married, and ready to have kids. Becca is kind of uncertain with all of those – those are big things when it comes to a relationship and when you’re wanting to be married. Those are kind of the main things.”

Chris also noted that being the target of all that affection was harder than it looked, calling the experience stressful.

“Lots of sleepless nights, sleepless flights, and waking up with your heart beating 7 million miles per hour and hyperventilating. Or feeling like you just can’t breathe because you’re so stressed out,” he said.

The couple will reportedly be moving to Iowa, where Soules is a farmer, to start their new life together. The reality star says he can’t wait to begin planning a family.

“I’m ready to be a dad. I’m 33. I think I’m past due!” he told People Magazine.
