Vicki Gunvalson of Real Housewives of Orange County recently revealed that she was threatened with demotion by BravoTV. Since Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams’ recent demotion in October, nervousness about that runs high.
A few days back, Vicki Gunvalson caught headlines when she seemingly accidentally posted a topless photo of herself on Instagram. Apparently Gunvalson had received a Christmas gift from Bravo — a new set of Beats Solo wireless headphones. Gunvalson snapped a pic of the headphones, still in the unopened clamshell case, and posted it to Instagram with a “Thank You “ note caption for Bravo.
What Gunvalson says she did not realize at the time was that her own reflection could be seen in the plastic packaging. And Gunvalson was naked from the waist up.
She quickly removed the photo from Instagram, but not before news outlets had an opportunity to grab screenshots of it. Gunvalson posted an apology for the pic to her Facebook page for her fans.
“I’m a human being and we make mistakes. I wanted to shout out to Bravo for my Beats while blow drying my hair and getting ready for work, I clearly couldn’t see the reflection when I posted the image on Instagram. I apologize to anyone that saw the picture and am deeply embarrassed.”

But it looks like Gunvalson’s threatened demotion may have been for something else entirely, though one might wonder if the topless pic helps her case.
According to Gunvalson, Bravo wanted to include more of her boyfriend Brooks Ayers in her storyline. Due to troubles between the two, Gunvalson was reluctant, but Bravo begged to differ. Ayers is battling Stage 3 cancer.
“[Bravo] basically put the gauntlet down and said, ‘If you don’t film with Brooks, then we are reducing your role.’ And I was like, ‘Oh no! You did not just say that!'” she said.
Gunvalson is insistent that she be able to continue her career with the RHOC program, even saying that she will keep it up until she is in “a walker with my botox and my false eyelashes. I mean, at the end of the day, they’re going to have to kill me off!”
Her relationship with Brooks seems to be back in the green zone right now, so she has acquiesced to Bravo’s wishes.
“Yes, we are exclusive, we are dating, we are together,” Gunvalson said of Brooks. “It’s official.”
She posted this pic just last night, with clothes on.
