  • Tracy Morgan wasn’t at the 40th anniversary celebration episode of Saturday Night Live, even though his friends wanted him to be.

The night was a hilarious and heartwarming celebration of many cast members and classic characters.

A lot of famous faces were there, but Tracy Morgan’s absence was felt by all.

After the deadly accident last summer in which Tracy Morgan suffered a severe head injury, as well as a broken leg, ribs, and nose, he has been on a long road to recovery.

A Wal-Mart truck slammed into the back of a limo van that was carrying Tracy Morgan and several friends on their way from a show in Delaware.

One of Tracy Morgan’s friends, comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, was killed, and three others were injured, two of them seriously. None of them were wearing seatbelts.

Tracy Morgan has endured months of extensive rehab including daily speech, cognitive, and vocational work.

“They really wanted him to be there, but when it came down to it, he just isn’t mentally or emotionally ready to appear on TV yet,” a friend of the star told Page Six.

Tracy Morgan’s 30 Rock co-stars, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, said a few words about him and to him at the SNL 40th anniversary show.

Tina Fey said of him, “I wish my friend Tracy Morgan was here tonight, and I know that he was hoping that he would be well enough to be here too.”

She added, “If he were here tonight, I’m sure Tracy would remind us that more than anything, he’d like to get us all pregnant.”

“See you at the 41st, Tracy!” Baldwin said.

    “We love you!” Fey added.

Tina Fey’s words could have been from anyone who knows and loves Tracy Morgan on SNL, 30 Rock, or any of the other shows and movies he’s been in.

Hopefully Tracy Morgan will be well enough to do comedy again soon!
