  • While Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition, after the six car pileup on June 7, his rep has revealed that he is “doing better.”

On Thursday, June 12, Tracy’s rep issued a statement regarding his condition to Us Weekly. “Today was a better day,” Morgan’s rep said. “While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement. His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing.”

The car crash that took the life of fellow comic James McNair occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 7. Morgan’s limo, which was also carrying comedians Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton and Morgan’s assistant Jeff Millea, was traveling along the New Jersey Turnpike when a Wal-Mart truck driver plowed into it, causing it to flip.

The truck driver Kevin Roper, who had not slept in 24 hours at the time of the accident, appeared in court on Wednesday, June 11 where he pleaded not guilty to the charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto. Roper did not speak during the arraignment, and was later released on a $50,000 bond.

Morgan is currently remaining at the Wood Johnson Hospital in New Jersey, where his fiancĂ© Megan Wollover has remained by his side the entire time. “[Megan] remains by his side and is relaying the countless good wishes and prayers that his family, friends and fans have been sending their way, ” Morgan’s rep said.

Morgan’s rep also had an update on Morgan’s assistant Jeff. “In addition, Jeff’s wife asked us to pass along that Jeff has also shown much improvement over the past few days,” Morgan’s rep said. “She is very thankful for the love and support she and their family continue to receive.”
