  • Tom Cruise’s latest mission is in the courtroom and not on the silver screen.

During his ongoing fight against Bauer Publishing over allegations of not being there for his daughter Suri, Cruise insists he’s there for her.

“I have in no way cut Suri out of my life – whether physically, emotionally, financially or otherwise,” Cruise wrote in his affidavit filed this past Tuesday. This is part of the information from Cruise and his attorneys lawsuit a year ago against allegations of his parenting.

Part of the lawsuit filed against Bauer Publishing is for them to name their sources to address these allegations, but Bauer Publishing insists their sources gave valid information. The also claimed that they shared this with Cruise and his legal team and even Cruise admitted to missing time with his daughter.

The real question might be is Bauer Publishing merely turning a working father into something else? Obviously the mega star of such movies as “Top Gun”, the “Mission Impossible” series and his latest movie, “Oblivion”, is someone who is being watched. “He understands that this kind of criticism goes with the territory with being one of the biggest movie stars in the world, but this one struck him wrong,” said Hollywood publicist Howard Bragman, vice chairman of Reputation.com.

Cruise has been a target of such publications in the past with former wife, Nicole Kidman and their adopted children too. It seems that if Cruise wins this lawsuit, it would be his first against criticism of his parenting. His most recent former wife, Katie Holmes, is pretty busy as well, The life of actors and their families sometimes can take a back seat to their careers.

On November 26, a hearing will take place to hear the tabloids arguments about their sources.
