After filing for divorce a second time, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus have decided to give their marriage another try.

In a statement the couple released to People magazine, “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together.” The couple added, “We both went into couples therapy something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways. Tish also said marriage can be really hard especially after 22 years of being in entertainment. We’ve had rough times but we both realized we didn’t want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work.”

News of a reconciliation shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to Tish’s Instragram followers. She posted a photo of herself and Billy Ray Saturday night, with the caption “Date Night.”

Tish and Billy Ray were married on December 28, 1993. The couple have three children together, Miley, Braison, and Noah. Billy Ray adopted Tish’s two children, Brandi and Trace, from a previous relationship, when they were young. Billy Ray also has a son Christopher from a previous relationship, who was born in 1992, the same year as Miley.

Billy Ray shot to fame in 1992 with his hit country single, “Achy Breaky Heart.” He has acting career that includes film, television and theater. He has even shared the screen with his daughter Miley in the Disney Channel original series “Hannah Montana.” He played the father to Miley’s character who lived a double life as a normal girl (Miley Stewart) and a famous pop singer (Hannah Montana).

The first divorce was filed by Billy Ray in October 2010, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple reunited a few months later in 2011. The most recent divorce filing was done by Tish, who also cited irreconcilable differences.

Hopefully Miley will tweet about the reconciliation, since she had some choice words for her father after the divorce filing in June.
